In 2009, after obtaining its DOC appellation in 1969, Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco was given DOCG status , in the last decades, thanks to its pleasantness, elegance and freshness became one of the most successfull wine in the world fruit of an ancient tradition mixed and transformed over the centuries, the result of an increased awareness of excellence and a new culture of convivial wine enjoyment. For Conegliano-Valdobbiadene the “G” of guaranteed is the recognition of an excellent quality achievement at every stage of production. The numbered, State-issued bottle-seal affixed to every bottle, so-called “band”, makes it traceable, so consumers can find out about the history of the wine they are ejonying. The Prosecco produced in Conegliano-Valdobbiadene is unique because it embodies history and richness of a land won inch by inch. A combination of wine-knoledgement, tradition and innovation which has carried the Prosecco to a superior level of quality. The new DOC status in the manner provided for by the new law regards these provinces: TREVISO, BELLUNO, VENEZIA, VICENZA, PADOVA, UDINE, PORDENONE,TRIESTE E GORIZIA. Now “PROSECCO” is a denomination and the name of the grape from which it is produced is Glera.
